Gascon style
our rosé wine

MERLOT

Associating various scents, mostly fruity (cherry, blackberry) and floral, its aromatic palette is appreciated in terms of its well roundedness

TANNAT

Grape variety with local roots, its lively nature is very becoming to the rosés where it is found paired with Merlot. Its aromas are those of red and candied fruits.

CABERNETS FRANC ET SAUVIGNON

Vinified in rosé, the two Cabernets give dynamism to the blends based on Merlot, giving perfumes of raspberry, redcurrant and violet.

The different methods of making rosé allow the use of all the red grape varieties of which the Gascon winemakers are not lacking.

In this way, a large part of the rosés follow the overall pattern as for the composition of the reds – Tannat-Merlot – while some integrate or make a large part from Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon, or even the more marginal Syrah and Malbec.

That said, whatever the composition of the rosé, we seek the aromatic potential and freshness in each variety by basing it on techniques similar to those that have given the dry whites their reputation.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Appropriately, their vocation as an aperitif opens the way to the gastronomic world of appetisers.

They also have their place with numerous dishes where a refreshing character is appreciated, as an alternative to the whites.

As the summer season is a wonderful showcase for them with seasonal cuisine, the rosés are regarded as an informal drink, setting new habits in the trends for appreciating wine.

The climate

unique conditions

The convergence of climatic influences – Atlantic, Continental and Mediterranean – in Gascony, benefits the expressiveness of the rosés, where the all-important freshness dictates a harvest earlier than for the reds.
